Scheduling and Cancellation

Class cancellation
Lessons canceled with less than 24 hours notice will be charged the same rate as a standard session. Exceptions may be made for emergencies and illnesses. If you miss our lesson because you forgot or got too busy, I do not offer a refund or an opportunity to reschedule the lesson. I prioritize our lessons and hope you do too!

Scheduling conditions
Lessons are scheduled via Calendly. A reminder of the lesson appointment will be delivered by email 24 hours and 1 hour before the scheduled lesson.

Late arrivals
If you are late for a lesson, I will be available up until the original ending time. I may or may not be able to stay later to complete the full hour. If you are more than 45 minutes late for a scheduled lesson, the lesson will be considered canceled without notice, and you will forfeit the lesson fee.

Technical issues
If you have hardware, software, internet connection, or power supply problems, I will do my best to arrange an alternative method of conducting the scheduled lesson. However, if it is impossible to conduct the lesson due to any of these issues, we will reschedule the lesson without late cancellation penalties applying.

Emergencies
If a typhoon, blizzard, flood, earthquake, or some other natural disaster strikes at the last moment and prevents either party from connecting for the lesson, the lesson can be rescheduled without late cancellation penalties applying to either teacher. If an act of terror, sudden industrial dispute, or some other interruptive manmade public event prevents either party from connecting for the lesson, the lesson can be rescheduled without late cancellation penalties applying.

Payments & Refunds

Method of payment
All lessons must be paid in advance via PayPal or Zelle. Payment must be made within 24 hours of the scheduled lesson or within 3 days of receiving an invoice.

Refunds
If for some reason you are unable to continue with the lessons, you may request a refund for the remaining sessions in your package minus a 10% processing fee. Requests for cancellation must be made 72 hours in advance of your next scheduled lesson.

Expiration
Students must use all pre-purchased lessons within 6 months of purchase.

Equipment

Primary computer, internet connection, & lesson software
For the best possible online learning environment, I recommend that you use a desktop or laptop computer with a fixed line internet connection. The primary means for conducting our lessons will be through the Zoom platform. You should download the free Zoom software to your computer, and test the video and audio quality in advance of your first lesson.

If you have technical problems, I will do my best to assist you or arrange an alternative method of conducting the scheduled lesson. If you regularly have technical issues, I do not offer a refund or option to reschedule the lesson.

If your computer, internet, or Zoom application becomes unexpectedly unusable, backup methods of video communication include: Skype or Google Hangouts.

Copyright
You agree not to copy, transmit or attempt to sell to a third party any learning materials supplied to you for the purposes of your lessons. Any action which does so without explicit consent in writing will be regarded as a breach of legal copyright

Confidentiality
I maintain strict confidentiality concerning any matters discussed during lessons that are not related to the goal of English instruction.
